MapQuest, the world's leading online mapping, routing, and global location services company and wholly owned subsidiary of America Online, Inc., today announced a new alliance with Chrysler Group to create an interactive "Find A Dealer" locator tool for the Chrysler Group web sites using MapQuest technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Chrysler Group has licensed MapQuest's Enterprise Service to provide maps, driving directions and an interactive dealer locator on the Chrysler.com, Dodge.com and Jeep.com websites. Car buyers are now able to locate the Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep® dealership nearest them as well as obtain maps and driving directions to help them get to the lot.
Visitors to Chrysler Group web sites are now able to conduct basic or detailed searches based on a number of different criteria, including Zip Code, City, State, Services and Dealer Name, in order to find the local Chrysler Group dealership that best suits their specific needs.
Additionally, the agreement provides for the future deployment of MapQuest services across a number of Chrysler Group customer service applications, such as call centers, whereby call center representatives will have access to MapQuest maps and driving directions to assist with customer inquiries.
"This is an important collaboration that will drive traffic to Chrysler Group dealerships," said Walt Doyle, Vice President and General Manager of MapQuest Business Solutions. "With access to MapQuest maps and driving directions, along with advanced searching capabilities, car shoppers can now easily add another layer to their geographic searches in order to find the local Chrysler Group dealership that offers the exact models, services and geographic convenience they're looking for."
